As the official Republican nominee for Congress, Ray Wardingley believes in the working man and is running an unapologetic campaign as a staunchly compassionate Republican who is both socially and fiscally conservative. In the tradition of Lincoln and Reagan, Ray believes in reaching out to people of all races, colors, and creeds.

ON THE ISSUES

EDUCATION · I support reducing class sizes for more learning opportunities · I believe in teaching basic skills to students I am in favor of school vouchers · We should look after our own first. I support using funds to grant more scholarships and grants to need based American citizens, not giving lower tuition rates to illegal aliens

GOVERNMENT · I support cutting bureaucracy and waste, the Republicans need to return to fiscal discpline. We must restore ethics and morality to politics, especially in Illinois. I pledge never to appointed my close relatives to high ranking government jobs. · Government must stop being "Big Brother". Govenrment exists to do what people cannot do for themselves, like control immigration. The Patriot Act and other measures should be reformed.

SENIORS · We must save Medicare from bankruptcy · I will fight to protect social security trust fund and vote against bills from either party that raid the social security trust fund. · I believe in making lower cost generic drugs available to seniors, including the importation of cheaper drugs from Canada

IRAQ I support our troops and believe they must be given the tools to complete their mission, regardless of how it started. I oppose an artificial deadline for troop withdrawal as it would embolden the enemy, but I support the IMMEDIATE creation of an exit strategy and believe vast changes must be made in how we carry out our mission in Iraq. It is clear mistakes were made and continue to be made in Iraq.

VETERANS ·The state of Illinois ranks almost dead last in Veteran’s care. We must actively lobby the V.A. to be more proactive for Illinois. I support our Senators efforts on this issue and hope to work with them in a bi-partisan way. The closing of Veteran's hospitals and the government denial of problems that have hurt veterans like Agent Orange is a national disgrace. Congress must make the President address this issue

LABOR & WORKER'S RIGHTS · I come from a working class background and fully support the right of workesr to organize and petition for a redress of their grievances · I support a modest increase in the minimum wage · Free trade with countries of comparable status and background is good, but not exporting jobs to third world nations.

TAXES · The typical American pays more in taxes than is spent on food, clothing, shelter, and transportation. · I oppose all income taxes increases · I support across-the-board tax relief · I believe the current income tax system should be abolished and replaced with a National Retail Tax system.

IMMIGRATION · I am a very strong supporter of LEGAL immigration. · I oppose "racial profiling" · I do not support "earned amnesty" for people already here. They should be returned to their country of origin and made to reapply legally. · Illegal immigrants should not be given preferencial treatment over those who come here legally and obey our laws.

LIFE · We must stop all foreign aid for abortion · I am fully Pro-life with the following necessary exception: when necessary to prevent death of the mother · I support ADULT stem research but do not support taxpayer funding of embroyic stem research

GUNS · I support the ENTIRE bill of rights, including the right to bear arms · I would vote for conceal-carry laws for those who have undergone a mandatory background check and completed the necessary training classes on how to properly use a gun.
