WHY I'M RUNNING

Have you heard from YOUR Senator in Springfield lately?

Well considering he's the PRESIDENT of the State Senate and yields an enormous amount of power and influence over all state government and our daily lives, you ought to hear what he's doing for the people he directly represents in southwest Cook County, right? Unfortunately for us, the wealthy and powerful elite that control this state with an iron fist have little need to actually help the little guy out. My opponent hasn't had a contested race in over a decade, yet voters through this state have reacted in outrage when schemes against them to promote pay-for-play corruption, higher taxes, wasteful government contracts, shameless handouts to illegal aliens, shipping Illinois jobs out of state and overseas, and even actively working to stop an electric rate freeze. The majority of voters oppose the Blagojevich-Jones agenda for Illinois, yet have been powerless to do anything about it at the ballot box. Well, consider yourselves no longer powerless.

It is time to take back our county and our state from the special interests that have enriched their own pocketbooks at your expense for decades on end. It is time to bring accoutablity and integrity back to the land of Lincoln because honest Abe has been rolling in grave far too long. You want CHANGE? Well changes begins at home! Electing the same crooked politicals to rule Cook County decade after decade can be described in many ways -- but it certainly is not "change". Keep this up, and pretty soon we won't even have any change left in our pockets.

This past spring, I contacted local officials about being slated for State Senator in the fall election, having learned nobody else had the guts to stand up and challenge our State Senator during the primary election. It's now official, I will be a candidate on the ballot in November.

Let's roll up our sleeves and get to work bringing about REAL change. As they famous said in Network,
"I'm mad as hell, and I'm not going to take this anymore!"

THE COST OF ONE-PARTY RULE

Well, it's happened!

I warned the voters of Illinois what would happen if they completely handed over the reigns of power in this country to the Democrats. Gas prices went way up this summer, finding good jobs in Illinois reached an all time low. The new, Democrat-controlled congress, run by looney San Francisco liberal Nancy Pelosi, has gone hog wild with your taxdollars. This year Congressional budget calls for nearly $22 billion more in discretionary spending next year alone. (And You Thought Democrats Would Control Spending?!)

New Gallup data show confidence in Democratic-controlled Congress at all time low support from the American people (14% Approval, worse than the Republicans on their poorest days) Congress gets a whooping 3% approval on their plans to give amnesty to millions of criminal law-breaking illegal aliens, and a 3% Approval Rating For Handling Iraq War (but gee whiz, we were told simply electing Democrats would solve all the bad things Bush did in Iraq...) And remember all those pleas to elect Democrats to "end Republican corruption"? Should I get into Tony Rezko's influence in Illinois, or the fact the Democrats refuse to oust a sitting Louisiana Congerssman under indictment for ethnics charges? I tell you, these guys make Mark Foley look ethical.

Our illustreous Democrat governor has proven he lacks the competance to pass simple budget when his party controls every single branch of Government in Illinois, often by veto-proof majorities (can't blame GOP "obstruction" now, can you Governor?) Our State Senate Majority leader? Does the headline about electric rates ring a bell to any of you taxpayers? It should.

I suppose I should bring up Todd Stroger's reign of terror over Crook County. Nah, too easy. By the way, be sure to thank your friends who voted for daddy's little boy solely on the basis of his last name. They supported him, they deserve him.

My friends, we havet truly hit rock bottom in Illinois. Everything I predicted would happen has come to pass. Where can we go from here? We have no where else to go but up! If you're happy with your new government on the state, federal, and local levels, then sit back and enjoy more corruption and robbery of your tax dollars. But if you're looking for REAL change, it's time to make a difference.

Join me in 2008, and we take back Illinois for the people.

Your humble servant,
Ray Wardingley

CAMPAIGN UPDATE - 5/4/08

Dear Friends,

On May 1, 2008, I officially launched my candidacy for Illinois State Senator from the 14th District. We are working together to gather a solid campaign staff, solict donations from YOU the individual (not the special interests!), create a full campaign schudule, update our website, and put out press releases about our vision for restoring Illinois to the honored legacy it once had. In late April, my campaign staff successful inplimented online donations on our page. You can donate by clicking HERE Donate to Citizens for Ray Wardingley today!

Just for starters, here are some basic areas where I will legislate differently than my opponent has:

* I will NEVER vote for a tax increase. In these days of economic slowdown, raising taxes on people in hard working jobs that don't pay enough to make ends meet is uncoincciousiable. I will work to roll back government and reduce wasteful bueracracy, and most importantly, take away fat cat salaries for government insiders.

* I will sponsor legislation to freeze ComEd electric ulitity rates during my first day in office, and put an end to monthes of obstruction led by my opponent.

* I will work to end the flow of taxdollars to illegal aliens, including proposals that give them in-state tuition rates, "universal pre-school", and state drivers licenses. These actions are especially a slap in the face to millions of legal taxpaying Illinois citizens who struggle to put their kids through college and buy them a car. Illegal aliens should receive NO taxpayer subsides other than emergancy care.

* I will OPPOSE raising Gov. Blagojevich's salary and the general assembly's "scheduled pay increase" that they are demanding until they prove that they've earned by balancing the budget in Illinois and enacting common sense ethics reforms in this state after 4 out of the 8 governors have been indicted. The fact that my opponent feels Rod Blagojevich "needs" $192,000 a year to get by shows how out of touch he is with the way the average person in Illinois lives.

* I promise to serve no more than two terms in the State Senate and then move on. We should have a legislature of volunteer citizens from the private sector, not career politicians like my opponent serving from 1973 -- before many of his constiuents were even born!

I invite you to join my campaign as a volunteer or member of Citizens for Ray Wardingley. In the coming months, we hope to have a weekly newsletter, online campaign ad videos, printable literature for distribution, and much, much, more.
